PARKER, Paul Roy Age 89, of Greenhill, Hants Co., passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Camp Hill Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Ashdale, he was a son of the late Murray and Gladys (McKay) Parker. Paul served with the Army during the Second World War. He was a member and served as Elder and Trustee at Newport United Church. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed time in the woods when he was able and he loved farming, especially his cattle and his gardens. Paul was a true Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan till the end. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Marion Davis; sons, Richard (Judy), Michael (Maria), Barry (Jackie); daughter, Patricia "Tish" (Michael) MacDougall; sisters, Joan (Robert) Custance and Sharon (Alan) Gerber; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by his sister, Lily Dearman; brothers, Earl, Cecil, Johnny, Horace, Charlie and two in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation, by request. A funeral service celebrating Paul's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in Newport United Church, 7800 Hwy 14, Brooklyn, Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. Private family interment will immediately follow in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Paul may be made to Newport United Church, PO Box 9, Newport, NS B0N 2A0.
