Garnet had a real love for tinkering with cars and became a car salesman at an early age. He first worked at McCarthy Motors, Windsor then London Pontiac GMC, Sackville and finished out his career when he retired from Cornwallis Chevrolet Buick GMC, New Minas. Camping was his joy and his relaxation. He was a member of the Glooscap Campers in Bishopville for many years, then became a member at Land of Evangeline Camping Resort in Grand Pre. He was very involved with his daughter's activities, becoming a senior official with Swim NS and officiating her swim meet. He later became a spectator at her special Olympic swim meets where she coached and her masters swim meets where she was a competitor. Garnet is survived by his wife, Donna (Vaughan), Bishopville/Sackville; daughter, Alanna, Halifax; mother-in-law, Verna (Tracy) Vaughan, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; special cousins, Leona Marr, Windsor and Maxine Lunn, Ontario.
