Obituary of Marion Katherine Parker

Age 86, of Greenhill, Hants Co., passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, August 7, 2015 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on December 26, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Harold "Buck" Davis and foster parents, Watson and Pearl Dearman. Marion was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved her family dearly. She will be remembered by her family for her ability to always remember important dates, people's ages and how she could tell family connections, off of the top of her head and also for her amazing cooking and baking skills. She is survived by sons, Richard (Judy), Michael (Maria), Barry (Jackie); daughter, Patricia "Tish" (Michael) MacDougall; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Davis and Keith Parker; nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul Roy in April 2015; sisters, Betty Cameron and Kathleen Benedict. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation, by request. A private graveside service, for immediate and extended family members, to celebrate Marion's life will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Marion may be made to Newport United Church, PO Box 9, Newport, NS B0N 2A0. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital for their loving care provided to Marion.
