Obituary of Oris Alvin Reynolds

Please share a memory of Oris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 77 of Falmouth, Hants Co. It's with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Oris on October 1, 2015. Born in Cogmagun, Hants Co., he was a son of the late George and Maisie (Sanford) Reynolds. Oris was a welder by trade and worked at various refineries in Nova Scotia and often times across Canada until his retirement in 1998. Whether it was fixing someone's lawn mower, driving a grandchild to school or remembering birthday presents for 10 different family members, Oris was extremely reliable. He will be deeply missed. He was idolized by his grandchildren, Alayna, Alex, Matt, Emily and Jon. They'll all have a lifetime of "Grampy" stories that they'll cherish throughout the rest of their lives. Oris is also survived by and will be deeply missed by his children, Duane (Dianne), Dev (Denise) and Val (Russ) Payne, as well as brother, Harold. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Barbara and his brother, Wayne. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a funeral service celebrating Oris's life will take place 1 p.m. Thursday, October 8, Pastor Craig Faulkner officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Private family interment will follow in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Oris may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, 245-5657 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax, NS B3J 9Z9.
