WILBUR, David Allison "Al" Age 90, of Mount Uniacke. It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Al on October 25, 2015 at Hants Community Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB, he was a son of the late Fred and Stella (Hyslip) Wilbur. Al proudly served for 30 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, first as a Tail Gunner during the Second World War and later as a Supply Tech at various postings across North America. After his retirement, he enjoyed several different careers, all centered around transportation. He did not fully retire until he was well into his eighties. Al is survived by brothers, Carl, Logan Lake, BC; and Richard (Anne), Napean, Ontario; sons, Bruce (April), Tracy, NB; Michael (Chris), Moncton, NB; Robert (Elizabeth), Woodville; Lee (Heather), Springfield; only daughter, Susan, Mount Uniacke; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Al is predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Mary (Newhook), and sons, David and Dan. Special thanks to the kind and caring staff at the dialysis unit in the Dixon Centre where Al received dialysis treatment. The atmosphere created by these angels and extended family on the unit enabled Al the ability to look forward to his treatments over the last six years. Thanks also go to the nurses and doctors on the 200 unit of the Hants Community Hospital for the compassion and care given to Al and his family during his final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where a Legion Tribute Service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, followed by visitation until 7 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Al's life will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev.
