Please share a memory of Cheryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
RUTLEDGE, Cheryl Lorraine Come in, sit down, let me make you a cup of tea and something to eat..... Cheryl was born June 5, 1946 to the late Jack and Polly Smith of Upper Falmouth. Cher's love and expression of life were bountiful. Her art work that captured the things she loved, we were lucky to see. Her voice that brought tears to our eyes and warmed our hearts, we were lucky to hear. Her ability to share, teach, strip (literally) our inhibitions and live life freely as she did, we were lucky to know. Her pets of her life Tippy, Tony and Cappy among many others were joys in her heart. Most recently her Puddin cat was sent to comfort and bring her joy. He became her everything. Being out on her bicycle, swimming, kayaking, gardening or walking, "grabbing the moment" was where she needed to be. So in touch with her surroundings she was a part of them. Her spirit exisited in nature as well as her faith. Her church and choir, were like family throughout her life. She leaves behind her perfect husband Wynne, who let her be the person she needed to be. Her son Greg "Greggie" (Tammy), she shared a bond that no words can describe. Her daughter Tara (Carl), Mum was her biggest cheerleader. Her grandchildren Samuel, Emily, Zachary, Lucas, Hannah and Michelle were blessed to have their "Cher" memories to cherish. Big sister Saundra "Sah" (Edwin) was a part of her life everyday for a lifetime, a special closeness they shared. So many friends in her life each one cherished, it was a gift for name to have known her. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Monday, November 2.
